Following an extensive three-stage design competition, the design-build team of RNL with DOTA and Hensel Phelps Construction Company was selected for the landmark Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building project. The team’s design ultimately responded to the constraints of the site, particularly the diagonal tension between Denver’s central business district and the Civic Center Park. In addition to 640,000 sf of new offices, the complex design includes accommodation for 600 vehicles on three levels of underground parking as well as renovation of an existing building.

The Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building consolidates many City and County of Denver office functions, including the District Attorney, City Attorney, Auditor, Clerk and Recorder, Planning and Zoning, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and the Permit Center, from multiple locations into one convenient location.
