This facility is one of many new police stations funded by Proposition Q, all of which faced compressed schedules and tight budgets to maximize the return on the public investment.
RNL developed a unique three-story solution that meets all of the functional requirements of this facility including an Emergency Operations Center for the Valley, and Booking/Temporary Holding that meet the Department of Corrections standards. It also contains highly flexible office space with the technology infrastructure to meet both today’s and future needs, as well as unknown changes in mission, program and/or technology. In addition, the builiding provides efficient and cost effective parking for both operational vehicles and personal vehicles, while achieving design excellence with elegant massing and expressive tectonics. This facility has achieved a LEED Certified level.
