The Ashley Union Station project consists of 107 affordable and market-rate rental units in 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom configurations. The project is currently the only affordable project in the Denver Union Station master plan and will be partially tax-credit financed.
18th and Chestnut is a stone’s throw from Union Station, providing residents with easy access to Downtown Denver’s many restaurants and entertainment offerings. The project is also conveniently located adjacent to a King Soopers grocery. Resident amenities include a resident-exclusive exercise facility and recreation space, velo room, dog wash, and yoga room. These ground-level spaces will accommodate residents’ needs as well as activating the street and encouraging foot-traffic. Eight ground floor units have street entrances with private front porches. This will further stimulate street activity and encourage neighborhood interaction. On the roof, residents will enjoy an expansive, covered roof deck with xeriscaped, raised planting beds, built-in barbeques, and views to Coors Field.
The project’s architecture acknowledges and celebrates the site’s full city block frontage with a contemporary dynamic and contextual brick detailing. Each corner is anchored solidly with darker brick masonry while the body of the structure flows along the streetscape to have a vibrant presence through meticulous and appropriate landscaping.
