The design team for the DEX Regional Headquarters was inspired by the company’s brand and vision - “connecting to the future by building on the past.” This led to a concept focused on communication and DEX’s evolution from the printed Yellow Pages to a digital future. Multi-colored architectural bands, abstract wall reveals, and bold floor patterns reference circuit board components. These tech-inspired motifs serve not only as wayfinding tools, but also as a creative branding technique. The concept was applied to two buildings - the Lincoln Station facility housing the Executive office, and the Panorama facility. Environmentally-friendly, cost-effective strategies were utilized in both buildings: sensors in lieu of switches for lighting, linoleum flooring, low VOC paint, environmentally sound carpet backings and adhesives for improved indoor air quality.
