The 41-square kilometer Tianjin Economic Technological Development Area (TEDA), one of the first state-level development areas in China, is focused on a Central Business District (CBD) master plan based on three primary factors: the area’s history and culture, present and future environmental impacts and, and intended land use and the site’s relationship to its neighbors. The project features a pair of 240-meter towers with 40-meter light crowns and a central park sloped up to the center from the east and west ends to allow underground traffic and maximum green area. The planned CBD includes first-class office buildings, business hotels, retail centers, a court building, museum, performing arts center and a monorail.
