TRANSIT CENTERS

Park City Intermodal Transit Center

PARK CITY, UTAH

The Park City Intermodal Transit Center was created to support an influx of visitors during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and serve the city well into the future. These challenges were met by designing a facility that respond to Park City’s historical and topographical contexts. The building is constructed of materials that recall the city’s origins as a 19th Century mining town, including heavy timber, natural stone and a metal roof. As a two-story building constructed on a sloping street, it allows access from two levels. Bus loading is available directly adjacent to the facility, as is a surface parking lot. RNL served as design consultant to Cooper Roberts Simonsen Architects of Salt Lake City for this project.
