Encompassing more than 640,000 sf of new offices, the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Building included the renovation of an existing building that was incorporated into the final design. The design responds to the constraints of the site, particularly the diagonal tension between Denver’s central business district and Civic Center Park. The new building consolidates many City and County of Denver office functions from previous multiple locations into one convenient location. These include the district attorney, city attorney, auditor, clerk and recorder, planning and zoning, parks and recreation and public works. The complex also accommodates 600 vehicles on three levels of underground parking.
