Barbara Berastegui brings more than 20 years of experience, including 16 years with RNL, to her role as Project Designer and Architect. Today, she applies her expertise to the design and coordination of transit and civic projects across RNL’s geographies.
Since joining RNL, Barbara has proven adept at translating client goals into memorable built environments. Her work as a Project Designer and Architect across RNL’s various geographies serves to enrich her design sense and allows her to identify the unique characteristics that contribute to a strong sense of place on each project.
Barbara’s work over the last 16 years with RNL includes design leadership on award-winning projects such as the East Valley Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility in Phoenix, LA Metro’s Division 13 Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility in Los Angeles and the Harrisonburg Administration & Maintenance Facility. These three projects in particular are emblematic of Barbara’s ability to work collaboratively to blend high-quality design, forward-thinking sustainability features and value engineering to meet client goals.
Outside of work, she volunteers her time and resources to the Girl Scouts of America. In her free time, you’ll find her on the running or biking trail or traveling. A favorite past vacation spot is Panama, her husband’s country of origin, where they hiked through the jungle and slept in treehouses.
