Master Planning
RNL recently completed the neighborhood master plan, and a building program plan for the Community College of Denver (CCD) Auraria campus Neighborhood. The Neighborhood Master Plan was developed to address in more detail the space requirements, land use, expansion and upgrade strategies needed within the specific institutional neighborhoods that were defined in previous Strategic Implementation Plan and campus wide master plan for all three institutions and the shared tri-institutionally shared spaces.
Working closely with the administration, faculty, staff and students for each institution, RNL developed a space needs program for all space types including instructional spaces, student support spaces, and study spaces to identify how the current space compares with national benchmarks, identify gaps and deficiencies or surpluses, and develop alternatives to meet the short, mid and long term projected need based on projected enrollment, new and changing program/degree offerings and other factors.
One of the driving goals for CCD was to identify strategies for increasing their presence on Colfax avenue and crafting a formal “gateway” to their neighborhood.
