H. Joshua Gould, AIA, LEED™ AP
Chief Executive Officer
As a Principal and Board Member of RNL, Joshua Gould has served the firm in many leadership and project roles since 1985. He excels at developing strategic solutions for corporate clients and has successfully managed several long-term client relationships in which RNL has provided a full-range of planning and design services for large corporations with facilities in several states. Key projects/clients include The Cable Center, Ball Aerospace, Lockheed Martin.

         
     

Richard L. von Luhrte, FAIA, LEED™ AP
President

As a Principal and Board Member of RNL, Rich von Luhrte has served a design and leadership role in the firm for well over two decades. His expertise lies in urban design planning and community development for large-scale complex projects often involving multi-use or transportation-related facilities. Key projects include NREL 25 Year Master Plan; the Denver Aquarium and the master plan for Colorado Christian University.

         
     

Patrick M. McKelvey, AIA
Board Member

Pat McKelvey is a Principal and Board Member of RNL and also leads the firm’s successful Los Angeles office. He specializes in transportation and maintenance facility planning and design and has more than thirty projects to his credit. Key projects include the City of Norwalk Transportation and Public Services Facility, Montbello Corporate Yard and Multiple projects for Foothill Transit.

         
     

John B. Rogers, FAIA
Founding Partner, Principal Emeritus
With 50 years architectural experience, John B Rogers is the Founder and Principal of RNL Design. He was named AIA Colorado’s Architect of the Year for 1991 for his contributions to the profession. In 1994, John received the Silver Medal from the Western Mountain Region of AIA for contributions to the region.

         
        Ned A. Minor
Board Member
Ned Minor is a RNL Board Member and attorney with Minor & Brown, P.C. A founding partner of his firm, Ned has been a leading transaction attorney, handling hundreds of mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions and related financial matters for more than twenty-five years. He has received numerous awards for civic activities and has recently completed a book on insights on the process and challenges of selling a business.
         
      Richard T. Anderson, AIA, LEED™ AP
Principal
Dick Anderson is a Principal in RNL’s Denver office with more than thirty years of award-winning, high profile project experience. He has served a key project management role on many of the firm’s largest and most complex projects including the Wellington E. Webb Municipal Office Building, the Denver Aquarium, and the 15th & Pearl Mixed-Use Parking Structure.
         
      Katherine Diamond, FAIA, LEED™ AP
Design Principal
Kate Diamond is an award-winning architect with over twenty years of experience. As Design Principal in the firm’s Los Angeles office, she brings an outstanding portfolio of transportation, institutional, commercial and residential projects both with RNL and from her own practice which she led for more than a decade. Key projects include the LAX Air Traffic Control Tower, the Fontana Library and the Northern Arizona University School of Communication.
         
      David Klages, FAIA
Principal
David Klages is a Principal in RNL’s Los Angeles office and an award-winning architect with more than forty years of experience. He is internationally respected for his talents in planning, design, and concept development of resorts and hotels as well as large-scale residential, commercial and entertainment developments. Key projects include Kuala Lumpur City Centre Master Plan, Hamilton Cove Residential Development and the MGM Grand Cascata Golf Clubhouse.
         
      Richard G. Shiffer, AIA, LEED™ AP
Principal
Dick Shiffer has over twenty-five years of planning and design experience and is a Principal in RNL’s Denver and Phoenix offices. Since joining RNL in 1981, he has distinguished himself as the firm’s transportation and church facilities expert with over fifty transportation-related projects and more than thirty church projects to his credit. Key projects include Faith Bible Chapel, Cherry Hills Community Church, and the RTD Elati Light Rail Maintenance Facility.
         
      Florian D. Walicki
Principal
Florian Walicki is a Principal with RNL’s Denver office specializing in federal government, criminal justice and institutional projects. He is recognized nationally as an institutional planning and design expert for secure treatment facilities and excels at managing large, complex projects. Key projects include Sand Creek Secure Treatment Center, US Space Command Headquarters, and the Statewide Master Plan for Juvenile Rehabilitation Facilities in the State of Washington.
         
      Larry L. Allen, AIA
Director of RNL Phoenix / Associate Principal
Larry Allen is the Director of the Phoenix Office. With over thirty years of experience in all phases of architectural practice, Larry has a unique aptitude for forming a cohesive team and producing quality projects on time and on budget. His extensive background in a wide range of building types provides the basis for his ability to successfully produce complex projects for all types of clients. Key projects include Mesa Transportation Maintenance Facility and Northern Arizona University School of Communication.
         
      Charles E. Boxwell, AIA
Director of RNL Los Angeles / Associate Principal

Charles Boxwell directs the Los Angeles office of RNL. He has managed the planning, design and construction of many major justice and other institutional projects for the past 23 years, with prison projects totaling more than 15,000 beds and 150 courtrooms. Key projects include City of Fontana Civic Center Master Plan, Park and Main Library, Tehama County Juvenile Detention Facility, and Shasta County Juvenile Detention Facility.
         
      Douglas A. Spuler, AIA, LEED™ AP
Principal

Doug Spuler brought his talent as a designer and architect to RNL Design in 1994 and is now a Principal of the firm. He leads the church and para-church market for the firm. His extensive portfolio of diverse projects features more than 30 church facilities including performing arts facilities, mixed-use buildings, housing, and complete urban villages. In addition to being a designer, Doug has also served as project principal, project manager, and project architect on more than 75 projects since joining RNL.
         
      Carl G. Price, AIA, LEED™ AP
Principal

Carl Price joined RNL in 2004 as a Principal in the firm’s Phoenix office. Bringing over 18 years of experience as Project Manager, Project Architect and Project Designer, Mr. Price specializes in facilities for higher education and related institutional clients. His track record of successful projects for the University of Arizona, Arizona State University, Arizona Western College, Northern Arizona University and the Maricopa County Community College District, among many others speaks to his expertise and commitment to this facility type. Key projects with RNL include the Arizona State University Decision Center for the New Arizona.
         
        Curtis J. Scharfenaker, AIA
Principal

Curtis Scharfenaker recently joined RNL as a Principal and will be responsible for developing the firm’s Commercial, Mixed-Use, and Master Planning markets both domestically and internationally. Prior to joining RNL, Curtis was with the Jerde Partnership, Inc., where he was a Senior Vice President and Senior Project Manager. While with Jerde, His client list included top developers and industry leaders in the US Market, as well as in Mexico, Europe and Asia. He has experience with a number of project types including destination retail and urban entertainment centers, resort casinos and hotels, urban infill and new town centers, mixed-use developments containing commercial, residential and cultural facilities, and regional master planning.
