The site is located southeast of metropolitan Denver in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, near the intersection of C-470 and US 285 in the Morrison, Colorado locality. The setting is largely rural with some residential development at a density of 1 dwelling per 1.5 acres.

Adjacencies include the existing Foothills Campus of Colorado Christian University which is on the other side of Lyons Ridge from the proposed campus, Red Rocks Country Club and Willow Springs are neighbors to the west and the Willowbrook neighborhood is just south of the site.
