| The
Elevation Analysis demonstrates how Lyons Ridge obstructs the view of the campus from many
of the surrounding neighborhoods. The Elevation Analysis is an attempt to understand what
features in the landscape occur at what elevation. The grayed out area of each image
represents land that is below the specified elevation. For example, in model Elevation
5,950, the valley where the campus is located is below 5,950 feet. Lyons Ridge is a prominent feature in the landscape. It projects above the surrounding neighborhoods, shielding the view of the campus site. Model Elevation 6,100 shows outlying areas of the Willowbrook neigh-borhood are at the same relative elevation as Lyons Ridge. These outlying areas have only distant views of the site.
