Rather than develop a traditional Master Plan, RNL developed a flexible strategy specific to the site and future program of the Recreation Center at Thornton.

Logistical issues such as ecological and social program became the driving forces for innovation in design—aimed toward a creative end. The resulting product will emerge as a flexible framework for developing the park over time or a tool for creative decision making, allowing the park to constantly evolve, meeting the current recreational demands created by individuals and families participating in collective life in the City of Thornton.
